FAQs
Do I need to use props?
Props are optional for most classes with the exception of Restorative Yoga. Please keep in mind, they can be wonderful space makers for our practice. They can help bring the ground a little closer to us in some instances, help to keep our alignment a little safer and help us to create different mind body pathways.
Prop recommendations are listed under each of the class descriptions here.
Do I need to have prior experience?
The short answer, no. You’re always welcome to give any of these practices a try no matter your experience.
If this is your first time practicing, I would consider starting with a gentle or restorative offering so you can begin to familiarize yourself with some of the movements. Please know you are welcome to explore any practice that speaks to you. Private sessions are also a wonderful way to begin learning before joining a group setting.
Please use the contact form to connect with me directly if you have any questions or would like to schedule a private session.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
Yes! Please send me an email so we can chat about what options are available to you. I understand there can be periods throughout our journey where we may not be able to pay for something that might benefit our health. Let’s connect and see if we can find something that aligns. Use the contact form here.
How many people are in an online group class?
This is an online boutique yoga studio with a maximum of 12 people per class for public online offerings (unless otherwise specified).
Do you interact with your students online?
Yes! We typically sign on a few minutes prior to the start time allowing for our community to connect with each other. Here you can ask me and your community questions and share whatever you may wish to share.
Do I have to have my camera on?
You are welcome to turn your camera off. I do offer verbal adjustment suggestions from time-to-time to support your alignment and your practice throughout, if you wish to keep your camera on. Just know it is not a requirement.
What if I’m not flexible?
You’re not alone! This is the most frequently asked question I have received since I began teaching. Everyone’s range of motion varies and can range throughout different stages of our life. This practice does not require anyone to have a particular “level” of flexibility to participate. With consistency, you may very well start to notice an increase in your range of motion. :)
Does it matter when I inhale/exhale?
The short answer, no. I would encourage you to follow the breath pattern that feels most natural to you. I will help queue your breath throughout the practice, just remember, nothing is a “have to”. This is your body, your practice, never mine. Just breathe.
Do you have any offerings on YouTube?
Coming soon! I’ve received quite a few requests from clients over the years and have been working behind the scenes on some lovely practices to bring to you in this space. Sign up for my newsletter if you’d like to be the first to know when the first video is released. :)
